Managing keys

My keys lists the keys of the developer, each with its plan, its date, and what it can do.

Show a key

Show key shows the key again, to the developer only, in a masked field: Show reveals it, Hide masks it again, Copy copies it. The keys are never in the list itself: the portal gives a key only when asked for that one.

A first request

Below the key, a first request to send with it, in curl, JavaScript and Python, to the gateway of the API, the key read from a variable named after the API (PETSTORE_KEY):

curl "https://api.example.com/v3/pet/findByStatus?status=available" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $PETSTORE_KEY"

The request is portal.sample_path, or the first GET of the first specification without a path parameter, its required query parameters given their example (or default) value.

Use it in the reference

Use it in the reference opens the API reference with the key in its authentication: Test Request sends the requests with it, through the gateway.

Usage

Each key shows its calls today and this month against the quotas of its plan — the counters Otoroshi keeps for the key. A gauge turns red past 90%.

Rotate

Rotate gives the key a new secret. The new key is shown at once; the previous one is refused within a few seconds, everywhere. The client id of the key stays the same, and so does the key picked in the reference, updated with the new secret.

Edit

Edit renames the key, changes its description, and enables or disables it: a disabled key is refused by the gateway until enabled again.

Revoke

Revoke deletes the key: its subscription and its API key. Cancel, on a key waiting an approval, withdraws the request.
